Zallen Engineering is a professional engineering
company that was founded by Rubin M. Zallen, P.E., in 1982. It is a successor
firm to Rubin M. Zallen Associates which was established in 1966. The company
specializes in the investigation of structural failures and problem structures,
investigation and consulting on construction problems and procedures, consulting
on earthquake analysis and design, and consulting on other structural
engineering problems. Zallen Engineering has performed investigations on buildings, bridges, and
special structures, has designed repair and reconstruction work for problem
structures, has made construction cost estimates for that work, and has been
involved with shoring and underpinning of structures. Zallen Engineering has
also been involved in a number of investigations involving water infiltration
into buildings from ground water and from rain and snow through walls and roofs.
Zallen Engineering has served a variety of clients, such as other engineers,
architects, construction contractors, attorneys, insurance companies, property
owners, the Massachusetts Attorney General's
Office, and the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management.
